Garrett Garner-Wells is State Director of Environment Colorado. He is responsible for directing policy development, research, and legislative advocacy.

Prior to joining Environment Colorado, Garrett worked at the University of Florida Alumni Association and served as Mayoral Aide to former Gainesville, Florida mayor Craig Lowe. As Mayoral Aide, he supported the acquisition of over 2,000 acres of publicly protected, environmentally sensitive land, defended Gainesville’s first-in-the-nation Solar Feed-In Tariff that spurred more than 18MW of decentralized solar capacity, and helped to pass new development standards to protect critical wetland and upland habitats.

Garrett is also State Director of the Environment Colorado Research and Policy Center, the 501(c)(3) sister organization of Environment Colorado.
